Rising Star: Meet Lucas Royalty

1. When did you decide to pursue acting and why?

I started acting around 5. I was approached in New York as a toddler to model and I enjoyed it, but I always wanted to be on TV. When I was 2, I memorized the entire "Cars" movie from Disney and I would act out all the parts in my mirror. I begged my mommy to let me try acting in addition to modeling. I had no idea what I was doing. A few months later I got an audition!!! After I did my scene, the director Tom Albanese came out and told my mom I did great but I went "off book"! My mom and I didn't know what that meant, and we thought it was a bad thing. I figured my acting career was over before it began. I found out a few weeks later I booked the part. I just loved every second of being on camera. I went on to win an award for my performance and the director is now my friend and we have worked together a ton.

2. What has been your favorite job so far?

That’s a tough one. I've had some many great experiences, but I would have to say filming "Last Dream Before Sunrise," was my favorite. We were literally in the middle of nowhere in Oregon and it didn't get dark until about 10:30pm and I filmed all my scenes at night so I got to stay up all night and that was really cool. I also got to throw mac n cheese at the lead actress and my stuffed animal "Pepe" got to film with me. Even though I got a million bug bites and fell in a ditch while filming....it was totally worth it. LOL

3. Do you have a dream role/job?

It would be so cool to play a character like "Chris Chambers" in "Stand by Me" which was played by River Phoenix. I also want to be in a Marvel film really, really bad. I would love to play a super hero and save the world.

4. When you have free time, what do you like to do?

I just learned to surf this summer and besides acting it’s my absolute favorite thing. I spend most of my time at the beach and in the ocean. I also like to ski, golf, skateboard and play video games.

5. What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

I really want to be this video game character called "Cloud Strife" from Final Fantasy 7...I think I kind of look like him and it would be amazing.

6. What was your favorite costume you ever wore on Halloween?

3 years in a row I was a Race car driver. So, I guess that was my favorite. I also had a cool Astronaut costume that I loved and would just wear around the house and to the store and stuff.
